USMP V0.8.5 (Part IV)

Post by Lakys » Fri Dec 08, 2006 10:53 pm

I am glad to announce that the final version of USMP.
This product will be discontinued as such. But it will have a successor by the name of EISHA, with a brand new coding and aiming to do much more than what USMP is capable.

This last version works with DAZ|Studio from the version 1.4.16.0 to the last version 2.1.x.

It includes an interactive panel permitting to adjust the ambience level applied to the surfaces (!USMP-Menu).

The version v0.8.5.3 also includes support for DAZ Victoria 4, Aiko 4, M4 and DAZ|Studio v1.4.16 and all previous unimesh figures plus some others.

Content:
- an interactive preset menu
- 3 material presets (15, 35 and 50% level of ambience)
- 3 material presets (-ext) using Default Skin Shader (from the DAZ Freebies)

How to install:
- Remove any previous version
- Unzip the USMP-V0.8 folder (and the files within) into the DAZ|Studio content folder (or any directory which is configured as a D|S content folder).

How to use:

1- Create your character, apply the textures (provided with the product you use), choose the iris textures of your liking, etc.
2- Select the figure in the scene tab (e.g. Victoria 4)
3- Apply one of the presets
Two ways:
a) From the content browser, find the Materials and then the USMP-V0.8 folder and open it, then double click on a preset icon
-or-
b) Use File > Merge and load one of the preset

Those presets are intended to be used with 3Delight (Software renderer). OpenGL may provide random results with no warranty.

Release notes:

version 0.8.5.3:
- Fix undefined variable 'm_aMissingClass' warning
- Fix the size of the folder icon
- Compability with DAZ|Studio 2.0 and 2.1 and still DAZ|Studio 1.4, 1.5, 1.7 and 1.8.
version 0.8.5.2:
Bug fixes on Sclera and Lip for V4
version 0.8.5.1:
- support for DAZ|Studio 1.4.16.0
- support for DAZ|Studio Default Shader Presets RC5 1.3.0.9
- support for DAZ Victoria 4 surfaces
version 0.8.5.0:
- support for DAZ|Studio 1.3.1.0
- interactive menu script (providing extended range for ambience from 0% to 50%)
- support for custom shaders (3 additional files)
- eyewhite ambient support

Don't forget to check out the Readme.txt for more information.

Have fun!

Lakys, you are my hero. that was so quick :)
I think I am going to like V4. I certainly like the way the face morphs work.
I had decided to buy the pro bundle with much soulsearching over the cost and when I went to order there was a $25 voucher in my account because DAZ had selected one of my DAZ images for the gallery. Totally unexpected. I am a very happy teddy :) :)

Thank you so much all! :)

To be fully honest, I have not even finished to download all V4 yet. I have not even made a full render with her textures.

But at least USMP is supporting DAZ|Studio 1.4 and V4 :D

Bea, congratulations for your winning picture! :)

As soon as my computer will let me, I'll try it.

Ayway, your presentation of USMP with the changes of the ambient light is great.

I really hope you will continue to present all the future stuff you will do like that as it does show the differences.

Bea I love your picture.

Bug fixes

You're welcome.

Well it was fast enough to introduce a few bugs and error on the way USMP handled V4 eyewhites which are known as 5_Sclera and not 7_Eyesurface.
It also fixes some little bug on the lips in the menu.

Version 0.8.5.2 can be download from the first post of this thread.

Thank you and sorry for the hassle.

Thanks Lady blue and I just found out I won a $25 voucher at RDNA in their newsletter quiz. Last week must have been a lucky week for me - now all I need to do is win the lotto with the ticket I bought last week :) :)

Render with USMP and V4

Post by Lakys » Sat Dec 09, 2006 2:55 pm

Well I am still not fully happy with this render. But I need to be patient and to learn to use V4.

Bea: hey! stop winning contests or you may end as a very famous artist :o

Cool render, Lakys.
Bea, I love your D|S gallery winning picture.

This is a first attempt with the Helena character + USMP + some eyes tweaking though not very visible here. (I find the new eyes materials are rather confusing...)

It is a real pain to figure out how to manage those eye surfaces. Took me a couple of hours to arrive to something I am not sure to like.

It seems like there would be some need for a well-thought eye preset. Or maybe I should I include this directly in the USMP V0.9?

Thanks Lakys. Just caught wind of these. :D

Are all previous versions of these and shaders prior to DS 1.4 obsolete?
:?:
