Your first impressions about H2?

Post by Lakys » Sat May 06, 2006 9:05 am

I have just installed it. It went smoothly.

I open it, I like the interface, it seems rather clear and well thought.

Of course I just ended to make a sphere and to edit it. I am glad it works well with my graphic card.

It is an amazing deal for just $1.99. I still cannot believe they did this.

I haven't tried it yet. I am waiting for my new computer - whenever I buy it - but just wanted to mention that there is an update for Hexagon 2 in the download area at DAZ

Have you used H2 a lot since 2006?

I just bought H2.2 for $50, which is still a good deal and includes free update to H2.5.

The new DAZ bridge feature sounds great. Of course, since I still have tons to learn about DS, I don't know how I will find time for H2.

The right question here is When? it was the PC intro price for Hex2 (if I refer to Lakys post it was in 2006 :P)
Now I'm waiting to see what will be the upgrade price to 2.5 8) The bridge to D|S sounds interesting.

Indeed, DAZ did this for Platinum Club members just right after they acquired Eovia.

Hexed by Hexagon...

Post by VitalBodies » Tue Mar 18, 2008 5:32 pm

Why have Hexagon? Why would you all want this program? What would you do with it or why would you need it?

I did not look into it much but I was not that impressed with the offering/images in the shopping cart at Daz3d for Hexagon. I could have missed the point though. Seems like a modeler. It looked like something to build imaginary creatures/objects mostly?

I went and looked as it was on sale an and then I could not imagine it was $2.

When indeed was the question... :)

And Vitalbodies, Hexagon has been created by the same people who made Carrara.

I have not done much with the modeler yet. Is it more or less powerful than Hex?

I have to get V4's skin right before moving on to the next step. Getting closer but i have a ways to go.

Anything you would care to show and tell? :)

I posted a coffee cup in the Graphic Café mini challenge thread, the rest is modified existing meshes or attempts at clothing items/props and not worth showing. :D

I went and saw your cup, very nice. Modeling in 3D really makes you think differently about objects and thus how to create them. Lathe, extrude etc.
So far I have only done fairly simple things that use paths and shapes and such. I have not tried anything organic or 3D brushed or the like.

Your coffee bean banner is great also, is the that (or going to be) the banner for the G cafe?

Not sure I was around yet during that mini challenge...

I have been using it off and on since the 1.99 special and I like it a lot. My graphics chip just doesn't cut it when it comes to the ram requirements to run Hex2 so I am stuck with a very sluggish refresh rate  I hope to get a more powerful graphics card and use it more.
