I won a prize

Post by Bea » Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:03 pm

OK, I am really excited about this. :)
It was an image that I couldn't have produced if not for everyone's help here on textures - and of course in particular yours Lakys on the subsaharan texture :) :)
anyway the great thing is that part of the prize means I think I am going to be able to afford Vue infinite though I may not run it on this computer but use it as a strong argument for a new one later in the year :)
But also I have won a copy of Carrara 3 but if I want I can have an uptodate copy of Dagwaffle instead. Any advice on which to choose?

Wow, congratulations Bea ! :D

Can you provide us some link to this masterpiece please? ;)

Concerning the choice between Project Dogwaffle and Carrara 3, I am unsure. PD3 is worth $96.95 at DAZ, it is a good 2D painting program with some amazing features (I own it). Carrara 3 is probably worth, but not the latest version. It may just make a job similar to Vue 5. I would not say the same if it was Carrara 5, because of its Poser built-in support. I guess you have to check how would cost the upgrade to version 5.

I think its probably dogwaffle 2 they have offered see below

"The version 2 is $59, the value of Carrara 3 is $50 - well
that's what we sell them at. For some they're really priceless. They used to sell at
$299 2+ years ago when it was new. They're now at $249 for Carrara 5 Standard and $200
higher approximately for the pro evrsion. There are veryt nice upgrade paths, like $99 from
CS3 or 4 to C5 standard. Highly recommended.'

Nice work indeed Bea! :)

I really like the contrast between the dark skin and the silver clothes.
I am less fond of the background.

A little thing you might fix, the boundary between the thigh and hip surface is visible. It might be because there is a few different surface settings. I guess you can try to copy and paste hip surface material to the thigh's one.

That said, great work! Congrats again. :)
